2006 Winter Judges
- This picture works really well in b&w with the tree branches forming a canopy over the top of the frame lending a spooky atmosphere. Shot on a nice angle (up a tree??). The photographer has a remarkable feeling for the environment. Even if I can't see the guests in this photo, that doesn't disturb me. It's a good choice to take this photo in black/white. The graphic aspect gives the picture freshness.
The WPJA contest judges presented Matt Adcock, a Quintana Roo, Mexico wedding photographer, with this Master Piece Award as recognition for top wedding photojournalism in the industry.
The leading documentary wedding photographers in the world enter their best photos to the Wedding Photojournalist Association's photography competitions. They want their wedding reportage photographs to be evaluated and selected by some of the most notable and respected working picture editors and photojournalists in the news industry (these are not wedding photographers or other WPJA members judging their work). Winning these competitions is a true accomplishment for a wedding photographer.
