The WPJA contest judges presented Coralee Penner, a Manitoba, Canada wedding photographer, with this Master Piece Award as recognition for top wedding photojournalism in the industry.

The leading documentary wedding photographers in the world enter their best photos to the Wedding Photojournalist Association's photography competitions. They want their wedding reportage photographs to be evaluated and selected by some of the most notable and respected working picture editors and photojournalists in the news industry (these are not wedding photographers or other WPJA members judging their work). Winning these competitions is a true accomplishment for a wedding photographer.

  • What a fun moment. The photographer did a great job capturing the personality of this fun loving, easy going couple. I mean, take notice of the flip flop sandals that the bride is wearing. I think this photograph would have been even better if the groom's hand wasn't cropped off on the lower left corner of the frame. Everything is symmetrical with the composition except that for that little element. I also would have like to have seen a little more detail on the whites. It's blown out and a little distracting. But overall, a very fun moment.
