Bio: Brooke Shepard attended the University of Texas and majored in Advertising, which was the beginning of her creative journey into photography. The photographs in ads is what appealed to her the most. After graduating, Brooke went to work at a graphic design firm and also worked part time helping at several photography studios. She soon realized that photography was her passion.
With that in mind, Brooke had to find a way to do it full time, so she decided to start her business over four years ago and has loved taking pictures of people and their lives. These past years, she has learned that life is precious and every photo that she takes is capturing a moment that will be cherished forever. Brooke has been married to a wonderful man, Josh, for over three years. They have a 2-year-old daughter named Stella (who is so much fun) and they love traveling together.
'm very excited to be part of WPJA. I feel like I've found 'my' community amongst the wedding photographers...I am happy to be a part of a wedding photographer community which doesn't feel the need to stage situations which are more beautiful when left alone. My main problem with traditional wedding photography is that I do not feel I can believe any of it as truthful. That has changed since being a part of WPJA.

New Mexico offers a strong Indian and Mexican heritage, making for unique and memorable wedding celebrations and miles of surroundings that will enhance your brilliant wedding photographs. The state offers a wide array of possible backdrops for your wedding celebration, from wide, rose-colored deserts and mountains to snow topped peaks. Cities like Santa Fe have a reputation for stunning scenery, allowing for picturesque wedding pictures. Despite New Mexico's reputation for being an arid region, there are actually very heavily forested mountain wildernesses over a significant portion of the northern region, which can open up for stunning and unique wedding photograph opportunities. With a wide terrain, a vast landscape, and major rivers like the Pecos River and the Rio Grande, Mexico offers a culture, climate and scenery that will surround your wedding celebration and give an opportunity for your wedding photographer to shoot stunning wedding memories.
Some of the best New Mexico fine art wedding photographers are now just a click away through the Artistic Guild of the WPJA! The AG takes the world-renowned artistic approach of WPJA wedding photojournalists to yet another level through post-production processing (usually Photoshop). AGWPJA photographers define New Mexico artistic wedding photography!
The WPJA is proud to launch the first annual Trash The Dress photography contest specifically designed to recognize the exceptional talent of our esteemed members.
Trash The Dress (TTD) competition entries are created after the ceremony with primary direction provided by the photographer. Entries are judged on creativity, technical proficiency, composition and lighting.
Gritty, romantic and uniquely sexy, TTD photo shoots challenge the photographer’s creativity, imagination and technical aptitude. Enjoyed by thousands of brides and couples worldwide, these on-location photo sessions commemorate the wedding and cherished gown within a glamorous, frivolous and often lively post-nuptial portfolio. TTD sessions meld formal wedding attire within unconventional settings. For example, sessions are frequently held on sandy beaches, amidst crashing ocean waves, at rustic farms, on playgrounds or in urban settings.
After the nuptials but before it’s boxed, the wedding gown is taken to a completely new level during a Trash The Dress session. We invite members to exhibit their creativity through our newest competition. Submit your entries by Friday, September 19th, 2008 in our exciting, first annual TTD competition!

The WPJA has been leading the way in promoting and rewarding photographers who excel in capturing the un-styled and un-scripted moments of the wedding day. More and more couples are seeking out the top wedding photojournalists in the world through the WPJA web site.
