JUDGES COMMENTS: Sometimes you have to get a little lucky, but Bresson said, “We should pay attention to those who are consistently lucky.” I’m guessing this photographer has been lucky often because they know how to capitalize on it. Clean, simple little moment, found and captured well.

JUDGES COMMENTS: The butterfly is such a beautiful surprise and photographed perfectly. It’s lovely with the clasped hands of the bride and groom included. Just the dress and the butterfly wouldn’t have been anywhere nearly as effective. You know it’s a wedding and you know it was a special little moment when the butterfly landed on her. The luck with the butterfly and the skill of the photographer combined to make a very nice detail shot!
