JUDGES COMMENTS: If there is one aspect of the images that leaps out at me, it’s clean framing. But when other elements are added like mood and expression as in this picture you have a simple, yet powerful frame of a child holding flowers on a beach.

The white background could have been a problem, but this photographer used it to create a certain ambiance. I like that the photographer shot this from eye level because it gives her importance. Otherwise, we have a photo looking down on her.
