JUDGES COMMENTS: The warm light reveals a warm moment between lovers. The quality of light illustrates the quality of a simple moment. At its heart, an image like this is relatively simple. But a lesser photographer could have easily considered the tungsten light a flaw to be corrected. More often than not –good photojournalism illustrates the adage that less is truly more.
