Getting Married in Virginia
You will find a delightful variety of panoramic views in Virginia that are sure to present ideal locations for wedding photographs. A southern state along the Atlantic Ocean, you will find five basic geographical regions in Virginia that will help to divide up the options of scenery at your disposal. The Atlantic coastal plain is the region along the ocean and includes a peninsula as well as the Chesapeake Bay. In addition, this region is home to Virginia Beach, a prime wedding location with loads of wedding photography options along the shoreline. Beautiful coastal inlets and flowing tidewater make for stunning pictures that will be taken by your wedding photographer. The Piedmont, Virginia’s largest geographical region located to the west of the Atlantic Coastal Plain, contains rivers and streams that break into waterfalls at points where they meet the coastal plain; opening up for spectacular wedding photography moments.
West of the Piedmont, you will find the Blue Ridge, the main eastern mountain range of the Appalachian Mountains. You will find high peaks and deep ravines that can make for potentially creative and unique wedding photographs. The Appalachian Ridge and Valley Region extend along the western border of Virginia and include the Shenandoah Valley, a truly scenic wedding destination. Averaging about 2,000 feet about sea level, the Appalachian Plateau is lined with streams, forests and rivers that can add natural beauty to a memorable wedding day, captured by your wedding photojournalist.
Southern hospitality, historical locations and exquisite architecture all contribute to make Virginia a satisfying wedding location.
