Born in Bakewell, Derbyshire, Robin got his first camera at the age of 5 and has never looked back, though of course the quality of work has improved!
He shot his first wedding in 2001, and soon realised that his favourite images, and those most liked by clients, were those which were unplanned and the client had no recollection of, but which said the most about the day. Things progressed from there, with a more relaxed approach and a desire to move away from the formality of wedding photography.

With a friendly approach, Robin’s clients choose him in the knowledge they can relax, and leave him to record the true essence of the day, from start to finish; no time limits, no staged direction, no worries.
Robin’s focus is the beautiful light available naturally, waiting for the moment when composition, the light and the moment come together. This creates timelessly elegant and naturally beautiful photographs with depth, a process that is far more meticulous and requires careful planning and timing, but the results are stunning. This is far from your average wedding photography.
An observation of the decisive moments, where light, composition and soul come together in perfect harmony.
Robin believes the wedding should not be dictated by the photographer. It should be photographed sympathetically and quietly. If the photographer takes control and directs the event, then the photographs simply become their vision of how your day should be.
