Kelly Lynn James

• Biography & Information

Kelly Lynn James has a deep love for great photography. She is one of three principals with StudioAustin|Weddings based in Austin, Texas, but her passion for photographs started in the world of documentary and portrait photography. Guided by the work of photographers like Henri Cartier-Bresson, Brassai, Edward Weston, David Alan Harvey, Sam Abell, Irving Penn, and Arnold Newman, Kelly studied the masters of photography and art and brings this inspiration to all of her work. In addition to her wedding photography, she is a working documentary and travel photographer with happy clients including the University of Texas, the Texas Observer Magazine, “La Attencion” San Miguel de Allende, and Vision Magazine (China). Her work has been shown in Slideluck Potshow Brooklyn and Austin, and exhibited as part of “Mardi Gras 2008, 360 Degrees” at the Jazz & Heritage Gallery of New Orleans. She was recognized in 2008 as a finalist for the David Alan Harvey Emerging Photographer’s Fund in partnership with the Magnum Cultural Foundation.

Kelly is one of the now rare natives of Austin, Texas and is building bodies of documentary and fine art work in the U.S., Mexico, and Central America.
