I have loved photography since I was a child. Upon graduating high school I almost followed the path to becoming a concert pianist. But instead, I decided to follow my passion for capturing moments. I went to Columbia College Chicago and fell in love with the city, quite a change of scene from the rural Iowa farm community I grew up in. People in college gave me strange looks when I told them I wanted to be a wedding photographer. I didn’t care because wedding photography makes me happy. With a BFA in photography under my belt, I strive to push my wedding photography past the ‘expected’ shots - I look for beauty in unexpected places, and wait for those glorious moments when pure excitement and joy shine through my subjects’ faces.
