Michele Ashley

• Biography & Information

I have been an accidental photojournalist since I was a kid. My grandparents bought me my first camera, a Polaroid, which I brought with me everywhere freezing moments in time, filling up albums and going through film cartridges one by one.

While working on my bachelor's degree in psychology, I filled my electives with courses in photography. Originally trained in film, I trained my eye to find captivating moments that would deserve a slot on a 36 exposure film strip, which is no easy task. I love shooting weddings. The love and raw emotions of the day are special and distinct to each couple. When I photograph a wedding, my goal is to give photos that tell each unique wedding story. I strive to document the day in a way that lets me be everywhere, yet discreet and far enough away that allows the couple to breathe and enjoy their special day.
