After spending a lot of time skipping from college to college and major to major, I finally gave in to my passion for photography and have been working professionally in the field for the past 20 years (eventually graduating with a photo degree from the Colorado Institute of Art). Traveling the U.S. cross-country for three months at the age of 19—hitch-hiking and train hopping all the way—has left me continually curious as an adult. My wife, and business partner, Michelle and I jump at any opportunity to see new places, and learn from the experiences we gain along the way.

I have been published locally and nationally in magazines and newspapers such as The World and I, The Sun, The Los Angeles Times, and Minnesota Monthly. My fine art sells in galleries and at art shows, and summer is the season of weddings.

Before starting my own business I worked as a commercial photographer, but gravitated toward photojournalism after a two-month spontaneous solo trip to China. After winning several awards for my work in categories such as “best of show” and “people’s choice” along with formal awards from organizations including the Associated Press and the Minnesota & Montana newspaper associations I decided to venture out on my own and have never looked back.

As a wedding photographer my primary goal is to allow you to enjoy the day while I capture it. I don’t hover and I don’t micromanage. Part of my working style is to ensure that you and your whole wedding party have fun because when everyone is comfortable and at ease, well… it shows!,
