Dimitris Balaskas grew up in Thessaloniki, Greece. He studied marketing before taking up photography in 1999. In 2001 he joined a photograph workshop in Thessaloniki for three years and he realized that photography was his life passion. He worked as a professional photojournalist for press agencies and newspapers covering political, social and athletic issues. He is now studying European Cultural Studies in Open Greek University. Based in Thessaloniki, Dimitris Balaskas, is fascinated by the street life moments, with a particular interest in documentary photography. He is a member of the Hellenic Photojournalists Union. ,
