Before moving back home to Chicago to launch my freelance career, I lived in the border city of Laredo, Texas. There I was a photojournalist with the Laredo Morning Times and had the opportunity to freelance for major publications such as The New York Times, USA Today, Houston Chronicle, Dallas Morning News, and the Associated Press. Since returning to Chicago, my photos have also appeared in the Chicago Tribune, Sun Times News Group, People and Brides Chicago magazines. I have also earned awards from the National Press Photographers Association Regional Clip Contest, Society of Professional Journalists, Illinois College Press Association, and Hearst Honors.
