Heather has been a photographer since she was a child and received formal training at Rochester Institute of Technology, with a degree in Fine Art Photography. She got her start by assisting for Wedding Photographers and worked in a photo lab for over 10 years as well as at George Eastman House. In 2010, Heather received PPA's Certified Professional Photographer designation. Currently, she is teaching workshops to beginning and advanced photographers and is very active in local Professional Photography guilds. Attending conferences and staying up to date is a primary goal as well as running an Eco-Friendly business. McKay's Photography has received the Leadership designation with Greener Photography and is currently their Education Committee Chairperson.
