In fact, most of my formative photographic memories are of family. Whether it was one of our annual trips to Myrtle Beach, a birthday party or hanging out at home, my favorite photos are the ones that capture us naturally, just being ourselves. When I graduated from the Washington School of Photography and started shooting weddings, I was reminded why I love those photos. Photography for me had always been about having fun with the people you love. Weddings were a natural fit.

Of course weddings are primarily about the couple getting married, but there’s so much more to the story and I’m always keeping my eye out for those special moments – proud parents watching their child’s first dance as a newlywed… a heart-warming toast from a childhood friend… a young child watching the fairy tale unfold… Grandma busting a move on the dance floor. I've shot over 100 weddings in Maryland, DC and Virginia, and I still love seeing these vignettes unfold in front of me.

While I shoot all the things you would expect on a wedding day – portraits, groups, details and decor – the most meaningful images to me are the ones that capture you and your loved ones in genuine moments of joy.
