There are those rare moments when you know the truth of something because you see it clearly for the first time. Cartier-Bresson called it the "decisive moment" when a photograph suddenly reveals itself to you. That moment came to me at a wedding. As I put down my glass of champagne and picked up my brother's camera, I saw the simple truth: two people joining together with families and friends to celebrate a beginning, a next step, a new life. I'm Daniel Stark, an award winning documentary wedding photographer. I see wedding photography as simply capturing a love story through the lens, documenting a new life, revealing those "decisive moments." Some of my work has been featured in National Geographic Magazine online as well as a number of regional publications. Weddings have even taken me abroad - the best of all worlds since I love travel and culture. I also break dance with my twin brother once in awhile. And I have the photos to prove it.
