Janne Miettinen
I'm a two time WPJA Gold Medal Award and one time AG|WPJA Gold Medal Award winning wedding photographer from Finland. I work with the highest quality digital cameras and equipment available and believe that capturing emotions is the most important part of wedding photography. I've had photographs published in several commercial publications, but professional wedding photography is my true calling.

1st Place: Bouquet/Garter (Action) - 2010 Q4Photographer's Comment
This was quite a difficult shot to get, because there wasn't very much space to do it. I tried to position myself between the bride and the women trying to catch the bouquet. I also used a slow-sync in my flash settings, so that the picture conveys the true feeling of action and the moment. All in all, I am very pleased how it turned out.

The bride is looking at a photo album with her friends. I took my time to get a good angle, with some people in the foreground and in the backround, and then took the shot as the bride looked as happy as possible. Surrounded by her best friends, this photo truly captures the joy of life.

1st Place: Weather - 2008 Q4Photographer's Comment
It was the biggest snowstorm of the year, and the wedding couple had to run about 200 metres to the wedding car. Although they did get a little snowy during the way to the car, they were still laughing all the time. :) I followed them all the way to the car, and although I had to run too to be able to keep up with them, I kept taking photos all the time.

This photo is taken about 10 minutes before the ceremony at the church. You have only about one second to take a shot like this, and that is why I'm really happy I nailed this perfectly.
