Jeffrey Sauger has a master's degree from the prestigious School of Visual Communication at Ohio University. He's also attended the Eddie Adams Workshop and the Maine Photographic Workshops. In 2000, he was named the Michigan Press Photographers Association's Photographer of the Year, the state's top honor for photojournalism. In 2003, he won an Honorable Mention for that same honor. In 2006, he received the first-ever Project Grant from Blue Earth Alliance for "Where Furrows Run Deep," an on-going project documenting Black Farmers in America. In February 2010, he had his first solo show in NYC featuring images from "Where Furrows Run Deep." Sauger lives in Royal Oak, MI, with his wife, son and dog Lucy.
