Ever since I was little, I liked doing creative things. I drew quite a bit, played musical instruments, and painted. I am a big ol' nerd that did well in physics and math so I thought I would study something science-related in college, but once I got there I couldn't stand it. I transferred to art school, where I was drawn to the work of great photojournalists such as Henri Cartier-Bresson and Robert Frank. I got a degree and worked in various office jobs while I continued my fine arts work. One fine day a friend of mine told me she was getting married and needed a photographer. She loved my documentary work and wanted me to be as creative as I would like in shooting her wedding. It was hard, rewarding work and I had such a blast that I finally decided to make photography my career and have not looked back.
