Philip Thomas
Philip is based out of San Antonio, Texas and is available for local and destination weddings. Philip has been married to Marcie since 2006 and have two beautiful little girls.
Photography is Philip's passion and part of his life for just over twenty years. Native of England, he grew up in Chichester, Sussex and in 1991 had his first step on the ladder as a local news photographer. For ten years, Philip also traveled around the world on luxury cruise lines like the QE2 before settling down in San Antonio, Texas.

8th Place: Details (Found) - 2012 Q4 ContestPhotographer's Comment
This click was photographed at the famous San Jose Missions just south of San Antonio, Texas. I was documenting the father and bride as they waited for the ceremony to start. Everyone was inside and this was the brides brothers hand. Part of a sequence, this was the best intriguing shot and typical of my humor. I anticipated the moment and was sprinting up to the door to get this shot just before he poked his head out again.

I love scene shots and even more when I can layer the compositions. I had already scoped this shot out prior to the ceremony. Shot from the same room the bride was getting ready and photographed with the sublime Leica M9 and a 35mm summilux. I wanted the balance to be just right so I kept the bride in the bottom right corner of the frame.

Everything seemed to come together at the right moment and I'm very proud of this click. Shot with a Leica M9 just after sunset. the girls twirl and how the boys legs are also crossed just seems to work.
