Read More... This field work took me to the Afar Region of Ethiopia where I realized my dream of working as a traveling photojournalist. From my field work, I also learned that I am capable of producing beautiful photographs even under rigorous conditions. My work has appeared in in-house exhibits, T.V. commercials, and in a number of local publications including Lake Erie Living, Cleveland Magazine, and the Plain Dealer. One of my images even appeared in National Geographic Online
Experimentation plays a large role not only in my professional work, but also my personal work where I try to combine nature and the urban landscape in my photographs. I also experiment with a variety of cameras, anything from the best digital SLR systems and medium format cameras to toy cameras including the Diana, and the Holga. Some of my images even appeared in the Toy Camera Show at the Akron Art Museum.
I have been shooting weddings on a freelance basis since I graduated college and I have always enjoyed the experience because they were a change of pace from my work at the Museum. I enjoy capturing the excitement and emotion that accompanies such an extraordinary day.
