When I was in 7th grade, I watched as my first black and white print appeared in a tray of developer. It was magic and I was hooked...It was also a photo of me that I won’t share here.) Photography has been a passion of mine since I was a boy. By my mid-teens, I began freelancing for newspapers such as the weekly The Vanguard Press, and dailies, The Burlington Free Press, The Boston Globe and The New York Times, and countless smaller community newspapers.
As digital photography was arriving on scene, I was in school at the Rochester Institute of Technology’s School of Imaging Arts and Sciences, getting my grubby little hands on the first Nikon and Kodak digital cameras. Upon graduation, I landed my first staff photography job at The Burlington Free Press, in part to assist them with their transition from film to digital photography. Ten years later, I left the Free Press as a photo editor and I’m currently running the Medical Photography studio at the University of Vermont College of Medicine.
Photojournalism and documentary photography are my main interests. I love to meet people and I love the opening into their lives that photography and story telling provides.
I'm based out of Essex Junction, VT and travel worldwide regularly to photography stories, events and couples.
