I am a creative geek. I love art, crafting things with my own two hands, and I love to travel. I love having a blog - I've had a presence...line for 10 years now.
For over 20 years, I have been seeking the beautiful moments of life to freeze with my camera. My work began with a focus on landscape and travel photography, but I realized over time that I wanted to turn my focus to people - and I have been in love with wedding, boudoir & lifestyle photography ever since.
I photograph an average of 25-30 weddings each year. Most of my clients view their weddings as a reason to celebrate - celebrating the joining of two lives together and of the individuals. I love being a part of their big party!
I am fortunate to have an amazing and supportive husband and son - without them, I couldn't do what I do. My work has won awards, been published in several magazines, and has been exhibited in galleries over the years.Read More

Why such a serious photo of myself?
Simply put, I always take my photography this seriously.
In reality, away from a camera, I... full of laughter and love, whether snuggling with my two boys under a pile of pillows, or scuba-diving with my wife as she warns me away from the fire coral. Such moments of love and caring inform my approach to life, and to wedding photography.
Creative. Simple. Inspired. Winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Photography
I have spent years perfecting my vision and craft, learning from the best visual journalists at The Dallas Morning News and the international wire service Reuters. I enjoyed telling complex human stories with photographs, whether at The Olympic games, Presidential elections, embedded in Iraq, or in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. In 13 years in photojournalism, I traveled far from Dallas, Texas, to learn how small the world really is.
Please allow me to capture your family's moments of spontaneous joy on your special day.Read More

I'm humbled and I'm still pinching myself to be part of the WPJA. I have a long way to get where I want to be, and even then I will always be striving to get to the next level. So thank you for the opportunity.
You write how other photographers in the WPJA refer others when they're booked-and that's exactly what happened to me when a kindly WPJA photographer referred me to a Houston couple who came to San Antonio to have their wedding with family & friends. A good example of the WPJA team, as you put it.
I've been a photographer for 15 years but just started capturing weddings just a year ago when my passion for documenting weddings rather than the traditional style-which was such a turn off-changed. I wanted to physically vomit just thinking about it.
Thank you for accepting me into a great organization.
