My name is Christine Lee Smith and I am a passionately gifted photographer. I got my start in photography when I discovered my Dad's...d Canon AE-1 camera buried away in the closet. I had to know how the camera worked and began taking photographs of people right away.
From working on my high school newspaper with my trusty Canon I graduated and went on to earn my BA in Journalism in 2003. Themes of telling other's stories was consistent through these years of my life. After not knowing what direction to take in my career life in 2005, my new husband encouraged me to pursue my passion in photography.
Once I committed to this decision, the doors of opportunity opened to me and I instantly began photographing weddings. I fell in love with getting to not only photograph people at their happiest moments, but also getting to meet and fall in love with their individual stories.
My clients are often romantics at heart. In fact, one groom even flew his bride-to-be out to California as a surprise engagement and treasure the memories they know will be captured through the eyes of an artist. For years I felt like my creative abilities paled in comparison to the amazing artists in my family - illustrators, comic artists, architects and musicians. Because I wasn't a gifted painter I thought I wasn't an artist. Recently I've learned that my unique artistic talent is in capturing the beauty of the reality we live in, and the lives of those I come into contact with.Read More

1. Thanks again for a great site and support. Clients who find me through the WPJA site are always great to work with and make my job so much easier because they know exactly what to expect, my membership in the WPJA has been one of the best moves I have made.
2. I just received my very nice [WPJA] tee and check for the summer contest. Thank-you! I'd also like to thank-you for the fine service you provide. I am a full-time newspaper shooter and freelance editorial shooter, but I must say, the response for my wedding photography has been overwhelming since joining your ranks. Clients who find me through the WPJA already know exactly what I am about. No hour long dissertations on the difference between my style and that of a studio shooter! THANK-YOU! Keep up the great work, I will add the wpja logo to my web site just as soon as I have the time.
I wanted to send a note to say that my membership in the WPJA has been very helpful in the launch of my business. I received several inquiries and ultimate bookings throughout the first year and my award placement in the associated AGWPJA has helped me confirm even more interest and future work. As I enter this new year, one of my first bookings was from a couple who inquired through WPJA and with several other inquiries this year so far I look forward to the exposure that WPJA will provide for my business.

I just added Asia to my destination locations about two months ago. Thanks to WPJA, I will be flying to Hong Kong in two weeks to photograph my first Chinese
wedding. I probably book at least half of my weddings from WPJA. Thanks for providing such a fabulous tool for both photographers AND engaged couples!
If you choose one of our WPJA Southern California wedding photojournalists as your wedding photographer, please let them know you found them through the Wedding Photojournalist Association.
The WPJA at a glance: The Wedding Photojournalist Association puts the best So. California wedding photographers at your fingertips, by granting membership only to the most talented professional wedding
photographers in the world--photographers who focus solely on using their documentary photography skills to capture the moments of your wedding day.
Southern California's famous beaches and mountains provide spectacular backdrops for wedding photojournalists to shoot photographs capturing your day. Southern California has plains, valleys, deserts, mountains
and beaches featuring a warm climate throughout most of the year. Depending on your wedding location, it may be possible for you, your wedding party or wedding guests to go snow skiing in the mountains, and hit the
beach, all on the same weekend.
Some of the best California fine art wedding photographers are now just a click away through the Artistic Guild of the WPJA! The AG takes the world-renowned artistic approach of WPJA wedding photojournalists to yet another level through post-production processing (usually Photoshop). AGWPJA photographers define California artistic wedding photography!
