I started with film when I was a teenager and gave up photography for a long time while I was raising my daughter as a single mother... got back into it several years ago when digital first came out, although I still shoot in film. I like combining film (polaroid & medium format) with digital; each medium captures a different mood in its own unique way, giving clients a completely full experience of their day.

I grew up carrying around a camera wearing rainbow suspenders and cowgirl boots. I have come a long way since but I find it curiously...sightful that I somehow knew then what I should be doing with my life. I respect the art of photography for this significance but I also find it freeing and natural.
I was one of those high school yearbook photographers that lurked under the stairs to find a unique image. I grew wings in college and began my post-collegiate career doing work in the field of psychology. At the time photography was my hobby and studying the way people made decisions was my vocation. After years of research and feeling starved for more creativity, I returned to school for a dedicated photographic education. The moment that first image magically appeared in the developing tray of the darkroom was "it". In love with the art of photography Brian has been shooting now for just over 15 years. There isn't an assignment or part of the world Brian won't travel to for a great images.
Based in San Diego, California for 15 years, Brian decided in 2009 to move base camp back to Newport, Rhode Island to be closer to family. Dually based in Newport, RI and San Diego, CA has allowed him to keep his feet in the water on the old coast and the west. Shooting a limited number of select weddings each year allows Brian to create a genuine working relationship with his clients. It also frees up time to pursue other creative projects as a photographer.
