Bio: Ken Luallen's work as a journalist has been featured on NBC's Today Show and MSNBC as well as on local television news programs in New York City, Connecticut and most recently North Carolina. His ability to understand and capture hectic events gracefully is the foundation of his art as a still photographer, but his emotional approach is entirely different. Ken believes weddings are far more delicate and personal affairs. The result is a style that captures the spirit of a wedding day rather than proof that it happened.

Ken became a photographer when he discovered that a photograph can show how a moment felt. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 2001 with a major in classical English Literature. When he's not enjoying invitations into his clients' lives, he is busy enjoying the love of his life, his girlfriend Stacy.

Bio: Christopher Record's wedding photography is heavily influenced by a photojournalism career that included stints at three newspapers. Record worked as a writer, staff photographer and director of photography at small dailies before joining The Charlotte Observer as a staff photographer. In his 14 years at the Charlotte paper, Record's work received recognition from the top photojournalism organizations including the National Press Photographers Association, the Atlanta Photojournalism Seminar, the Southern Short Course and the North Carolina Press Photographers Association. He has also received numerous awards from the Wedding Photojournalists Association. After starting his wedding photography business in 2001 while still working as a staff photographer, Record left newspapers in January of 2007 to put all of his energy into his documentary wedding photography. He also continues to accept corporate, editorial and portrait assignments.

Bio: Sean Meyers is a freelance photojournalist based in the Piedmont Region of North Carolina. Sean's style of wedding photography comes from over 15 years as a newspaper and magazine photographer in Florida, Ohio, Missouri, Texas and now North Carolina. Sean's work has appeared in numerous regional, national and international magazines, including Time, Newsweek, Sports Illustrated, ESPN and TV Guide. His photography work has received awards from The National Press Photographer's Association, The Associated Press and the Atlanta Photojournalism Seminar. He is currently working on a year-long religion documentary project.

Bio: Shane graduated from St. Bonaventure University with a bachelor's degree in journalism/mass communication. He worked as a newspaper reporter and photographer at various publications for several years before making wedding photography his full-time business. Shane has won three North Carolina Press Association awards for photography and one for investigative reporting. He is a proud winner of four awards from the Wedding Photojournalist Association, and is an award-winning member of the Artistic Guild of the Wedding Photojournalist Association.

Bio: Stacy's background is photography. She always flashes back to her 7th birthday, A.K.A., The Year of the Camera. It was plastic junk, but it was her plastic junk. Stacy loved photography and loved how with the click of the shutter you could immortalize time. Years later, it is her passion.

With a penchant for people and a love for the art of photography, Stacy's wedding photography has melded into the perfect blend of the documentary art of people and her muse. There isn't one succinct list of clientele that she caters to. Stacy has done everything from celebrity and multi Olympic gold medalist, Marion Jones to the Carolina country wedding to the quaint B & B type.

Stacy's weddings and photography have been featured in Carolina Bride, Southern Bride & Groom, The Bride's Book, Parenting, and Triangle East magazines. Her work has also been seen in an exhibit in North Carolina for the advocation of midwives and homebirths. She's also received acclaim in wedding photography contests in which her images out of several thousand have made it to the finals. Most recently, Stcay will have one of her pictures on the cover of a magazine.

Bio: Hooman built his first camera out of plastic from a kit at age 12. No adjustments, no lenses, no flash - just a hole in plastic, a button, and some film. That started a enduring passion for capturing images.

Years of experience photographing landscapes, cityscapes, portraits and musicians led to where he is today - capturing all of those elements in one grand day, where everyone, and everything look their best, and in a style which is not cliche or cookie cutter - but unique and personal to each couple and family.

Bio: Michelle is a former Newspaper reporter and photographer who has won a North Carolina Press Association Award for Photography. Besides being published in Newspapers, her work has been published in various magazines. Today she is a full time photographer.

Bio: Brooke graduated from Appalachian State University with a bachelor's degree in Industrial Technology with a minor in photography and art. Her junior year of college she studied Portraiture and Portrayal in Sydney, Australia. After school she moved to New York City and interned with famous portrait and dance photographers, Joyce Tenneson, and Lois Greenfield. In 2003 she moved to the Outer Banks of North Carolina and started her wedding and portrait photography business. Since then Brooked has been published in local and national wedding publications and is a WPJA award winner. She also won an award in Photo District New's Top Knots Wedding Contest in 2007.

Bio: Brian Treffeisen was born outside Philadelphia, PA, raised in Charlotte, NC and obtained his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the University of North Carolina - Charlotte. His photojournalistic work has appeared in Charlotte magazine, Charlotte Weekly, Charlotte Chamber and the Monroe Enquirer Journal.

Bio: Bert VanderVeen is a North Carolina photographer specializing in people and what they do. His family has been photographing the people and places of NC for over 100 years, five generations of artists starting with his great uncle Arthur Baker, who was court photographer to Queen Victoria before emigrating to the mountains of NC. Bert now lives in Greensboro NC with his wife and their two daughters. His photography has been featured in The Washington Post, Our State, Renaissance Magazine and the Winterthur Museum magazine.

Bio: Darron has been a professional photojournalist for the last 12 years. He has worked as a staff photographer at three newspapers, most recently the Naples Daily News, which is considered one of the best photo papers in the country. While at the Naples Daily News, he was named one of the top photojournalist in the Southeast by the National Press Photographers Association.

Darron's work has appeared in The New York Times, USA Today, The Washington Post, Time, Newsweek, Sports Illustrated, ESPN The Magazine, and many other publications. He is now bringing his strong photojournalism background to wedding photojournalism, shooting beautiful documentary images of special days.

Bio: I have an associates degree in photojournaiism and 13 years experience as a newpaper photographer. One of the highlights during my newspaper career was contributing to the Sigma Delta Chi Community Service Award with the Society of Professional Journalist in 1997 while at the W-S Journal. In 2001, I was commisioned by the North Carolina School of the Arts to document "A day in the Life" of the students there and 30 images from this project comprised a 12-month traveling exhibit for the school. This launched my free-lance career and I have been working with community based projects for non-profit agencies and advertising agencies since 2001.

I have carried my photojournalism background into wedding photography and family portraiture. Wedding photojournalism provides me with a pure storytelling outlet similar to many assignments/photo essays I enjoyed while working for a newspaper. I contract about 12 weddings a year. This leaves time for my non-wedding work as well as finding my own documentary projects. When I don't have a camera in hand, I enjoy time with my husband and our 2 "barking" kids. I am also an avid cyclist and "escape" to the mountains a couple times a month to mountain bike with friends.

Bio: Martha’s roots in photojournalism go all the way back to being chosen as a teenager to participate in a summer school program for young photographers at UNC’s School of Journalism. With a photography career dating back to the mid-90’s, she has received an undergraduate degree in Technical Photography from ASU as well as a graduate degree from Vancouver, Canada’s Focal Point Visual Arts Center. Martha has had the opportunity to cover weddings all over North America, from Vancouver to Florida. Her eye leans toward the story of the moment without being contrived or overproduced. By allowing natural moments to unfold, the photographs she creates are the evidence of the moment in beautiful form of a mixture of black and white and color.

Bio: Tina Wright is a published, award-winning photographer based in Arizona. She studied photography at the Southeast Center for Photographic Technologies in Florida and has made it her passion ever since. Bio: Mike Topham is a former member of the White House Press Corps. and covered President Reagan at the White House and on the road. Mike was issued a White House Press Photographers Pass in 1982.
