I have been in love with photography since I was 9 years old. I used to take the camera out of my parents’ dresser drawer without them...owing and run off and take photos of my sister and brother, which they would only know about later after they developed the film. In high school I took a photography class and I was hooked. I spent my junior year as a photographer on the newspaper staff and senior year as photo editor. In 1999 I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Photojournalism from Ball State University in Muncie, IN. Over the years I gained experience working for the college newspaper and other publications as a photographer.
After an internship in New York City at HBO, I spent the next few years living and working on the East Coast before returning to Indiana with my husband. It was there we began to shoot digital and began shooting portraits of models, couples, bands and children. My love of portraiture grew intensely during this time, and I knew that I wanted to combine my love of telling stories with my camera, with fashion, glamour and art.
In 2006 I re-located to beautiful Portland, Maine with my husband where we started our business, Fidelio Photography. I also began shooting weddings professionally and continued my fashion and commercial work. My background and education in photojournalism is instrumental to my work now as a wedding photojournalist, and I love telling the story of the most important day in someone’s life with my images. I shoot a wedding with a documentary style, shadowing my clients in an unobtrusive way, capturing those candid, unexpected and emotional moments throughout their day.
My work has been published in Seacoast Bride Magazine, Portland Style Magazine, Theknot.com, Southern Weddings Magazine, Popular Photography magazine and Lightleaks magazine. Additionally I am an award winning member of the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA). Read More

In Maine since 1995, Michele works all over the state on assignment for a variety of corporate clients, magazines, colleges, and Maine businesses. Stacey Kane never set out to be a photographer.
Her success in the world of photography did not come about by way of textbooks... workshops. Instead it came from instinct....from her unique way of anticipating and seeing not only the obvious events happening around her, but also the personalities and emotions driving those moments.
Stacey believes that the most important times are those found in the moments unrehearsed. She takes an editorial approach to photographing weddings, believing that the images that capture the expressions and moments naturally will be the ones most cherished in the future. She will not force you into an awkward pose or interrupt a private moment in order to stage a photo. (Stacey will NEVER ask you to stop and smile at her in the middle of your first dance!)
It's her natural ability to put those around her at ease and to anticipate "real" moments that makes her the choice of brides and grooms from every corner of the world. Couples planning an intimate event in the backyard of a childhood home to those planning an exquisite extravaganza; brides and grooms planning a celebratory weekend event in a tropical destination and celebrity couples planning a private ceremony and party out of the spotlight...... all choose Stacey for her expertise, her artistic vision and her warm personality and sense of humor.
An award winning photographer, Stacey has been published in numerous magazines including InStyle Weddings, Martha Stewart Weddings, People, Grace Ormonde, Elegant Bride, Destination Weddings & Honeymoons, The Knot (national), The Knot (Boston) and other publications.
Stacey is a proud hockey/soccer/football Mom (yep...all 3!!) and resides in Maine with her husband, a daughter, two sons and a chocolate lab.Read More

Formal training at Bowdoin College and Brown University. Brian's development began while working with National Geographic photographer...len Rowell in western Tibet, Nepal and India. The techniques developed were simple: be consistently respectful, unobtrusive and friendly. Brian quietly charmed his way in and out of Chinese jails, through rioting civil servants in Kathmandu and was welcomed to photograph more prohibited elements of real daily life then most ever get access to. Brian learned there that a quick smile, a respectful nod and an unobtrusive approach can create incredible photographic opportunities.
Brian continued to take on various editorial assignments throughout Asia, Central America, Canada and The United States. He has covered everything from sea turtle rescue efforts in Costa Rica to documenting the impacts of logging in British Columbia. His work appears in a variety of publications including books by Random House, as well as regional and national magazines.
But how and why weddings? At Brian's own Hawaiian beachside wedding, he was amazed by how obtrusive his otherwise incredibly talented photographer was and thought that there had to be a better way. It's his incredible creativity, quick sense of quiet humor and commitment to capturing the real essence of a wedding that make his photographs unique and cherished. With studios in San Francisco and Maine, Brian teaches photography workshops throughout the United States and supports destination weddings worldwide.Read More
I was eleven when I began documenting anything and everything within an eleven year old's world in upstate New York. Having received...degree in Professional Photography I began building a career in what I have always loved most: freezing a moment in time that will provoke emotion now and in the future.
I have won photojournalistic awards through the Maine Press Association and various wedding photographers associations. I work out of my home studio as a freelance photojournalist which includes wedding photojournalism. I have been published in a number of magazines and newspapers most recently SEVENTEEN Magazine. I have contributed to the Associated Press.
I have a wonderful husband who, being in the high tech industry, began his wedding assistance by securing all images shot during each wedding. After training he now works as a documenting assistant covering the groom before the ceremony and alternate shots throughout the entire wedding day.

I have had a passion for photography ever since I was young. Many years ago, I was asked to photograph a family member's wedding. When...ople saw the images, they were amazed. I was then asked to shoot for a friend, and the requests began to grow. So I left my formal education and job as a scientist to pursue this avenue.
Applying my professional background as a scientist, I believe has been a big advantage as a photographer. I look at my environment, people, and the world much more critically. I have learned in my science training to think several steps ahead and that has been a great asset as a wedding photographer, being able to anticipate.
Having spent time photographing in places as far away as the People's Republic of China, the passion has grown deeper and deeper. I formally started my photography business in 2006 and haven't looked back. Read More

As a typical artist, there is plenty of second (and third and fourth) guessing about my work and being accepted into the WPJA was validation! I was so proud of myself and so honored to be involved with such an organization! The inquiries increased, as did my own ownership of my work. I was able to grow my business, raise my prices and take myself and my photography more seriously.
I could literally spend days (and have) pouring over the work of just the WPJA members from Maine. I am so humbled when I see their work and as a young photographer, their work is incredibly inspiring and informative. Living in a rural state and working the same dates as other photographers means we don't often get a chance to connect but through the WPJA and the forum, I have found e-mentors. I was also excited to have other like-minded professionals who I could refer people to.
I know some people don't find the value that I do in the WPJA and that is totally within their rights. That said, there are still many photographers, brides and artists who hold the WPJA in the highest esteem. I am one of them and I thank you for that opportunity. I finally feel like one of the cool kids.
Just wanted to take a second to thank you again for everything you do with WPJA. I'm honored to be part of such an incredible group. Like most, I always ask brides how they found me. I'm particularly interested in knowing this information since I not only haven't advertised my wedding photography in any significant capacity....I have an unlisted phone number to boot! In fact, it wasn't until about a month ago that I finally ordered business cards! So, it shouldn't come as any big surprise to know that a VERY large percentage of my business comes from WPJA. Even better, it doesn't just come from WPJA directly...it also comes from referrals of the other members of WPJA. I know that most of the members in my region, including myself, refer couples to the WPJA site when a wedding date is already booked for them. I believe that WPJA is successful for so many of us because it is a form of the best type of marketing....word of mouth.
Honestly, I could go on and on about the many positive attributes of WPJA from a photographer's perspective. Praise runs very high for your organization from my clients as well.
I want to thank you again for all that you do. I am more than proud to be a member of WPJA. I truly appreciate (as do the other photographers I've spoken with) that you uphold a higher standard for membership. Knowing the quality of photographers that are members of WPJA makes it very easy to refer brides to. I know David, Michele, Melissa and Jamie and they are wonderful photographers and great people. I'm thrilled to be in such good company!
It was nice to hear from you. Please let me know next time you make it to Maine. Maybe we could all try to get together.
Thanks again,
... Also, again wanted to say thanks for all your fine work in launching and promoting the wpja. We now use it as our referral site. If we are busy for a date we send the client to the wpja and say those are the photographers we would recommend. Hope to meet you some day.
Warm Regards,
I wanted you to know that I just returned from the most beautiful place in the world...Punta Cana, Dominican Republic! Thanks to WPJA, I was fortunate enough to be hired for this
beautiful destination wedding. It was such a dream come true for me! I never would have landed this if it wasn't for WPJA. I look forward to my upcoming destination wedding in St.
Thomas as well. Dreamy! Thank you so much for giving me these amazing opportunities!
