WPJA MEMBER BENEFITS

The Wedding Photojournalist Association offers far-reaching benefits for its members. Based on the countless 'Testimonials From WPJA Wedding Photographers' we have received over the years, our members make it very clear that the greatest benefit of belonging in the WPJA is the ability to book (through the WPJA) numerous weddings with their most preferred types of clients. Due to all the positive publicity the organization is receiving and due to its notoriety, reputation for high standards, and respect within the wedding industry, the WPJA attracts prospective couples who appreciate, value, and seek the best in wedding photojournalism. Thus, photographers that belong to the WPJA are able to pursue their passion in documentary wedding photography, develop their talent and creativity, while operating in ideal settings.

Moreover, in joining, a member gains the strength of large-scale advertising, increased traffic flow to his/her web site, and professional award-recognition through members-only contests. The WPJA also sponsors educational opportunities including workshops, seminars, and conventions.

BENEFITS OF WPJA WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITIONS

Several times out of the year, WPJA members have a tremendous opportunity to further demonstrate creative and technical excellence. The venue: WPJA Wedding Photography Contests. Through WPJA contests, members receive yet one more tool by which to draw the attention of their prospective customer audience.

WPJA contests also create opportunities for great rewards in the form of cash awards, trophies, titles, and professional recognition within the Wedding Photojournalism industry. Perhaps one of our most coveted awards is the large 'Traveling Trophy', reserved for the Photographer of the Year (POY). The trophy features the permanently engraved name of the annual recipient on the base. POYs have the distinct privilege of keeping/displaying this prestigious trophy for one year.

The following contest-benefits apply as well:
  • Potential image placement with photo credit integrated into WPJA site design.
  • Getting quoted in WedPix articles with links to PIX image galleries.
  • Having award winning images used to accompany WedPix articles.
  • The potential for increased interest in member's work.
  • Increased traffic on the member's PIX pages.
  • Higher ranking on WPJA regional search results listing pages.

Obviously all of the above mentioned benefits translate into higher earning potential for the photographer.

BRIDES Magazine / WPJA Wedding Photo Competition

BRIDES MAGAZINE & the Wedding Photojournalist Association proudly present a Wedding Photojournalism Contest.

The WPJA/BRIDES Wedding Photojournalism Contest spotlights the finest images from the best wedding photojournalists on the pages of one of the most world-renowned wedding publications and the web sites of the WPJA and BRIDES.

For most brides and grooms, wedding photojournalism is no longer a trendy alternative to traditional wedding day photo-coverage; rather, it is mainstream wedding photography. The WPJA has been leading the way in promoting and rewarding photographers who excel in capturing the un-styled and un-scripted moments of the wedding day. More and more couples are seeking out the top wedding photojournalists in the world through the WPJA web site.

  D-65 DIGITAL WORKFLOW WORKSHOPS

The D-65 workshops teach bulletproof techniques to increase workflow productivity and save time. These workshops demonstrate ways to automate, search, archive, present and deliver the zillions of images todays photographers accumulate. Attendees will learn to create files perfect for reproduction; tagged, named, sized and sharpened correctly, along with attaching the appropriate metadata and keywords. You will learn the correct way to keep your images organized, and archived. The workshops are intensive, and focus on optimizing digital photography -- from input to output.
