Q. WHAT OPPORTUNITIES DOES LINKING TO THE WPJA SITE PROVIDE?

Members are encouraged to make reference (with a link) to their affiliation with the WPJA in their bio/about page on their individual web sites. Such reference will be most benefical to the member for the following reason: Affiliation with the WPJA will undoubtedly add value and enhance credibility for the photographer in the eyes of potential clients (example with link code at the bottom of this page).

We also encourage members to add a WPJA banner to their web site to show their affiliation with the organization. If you have been approved for WPJA membership and are current with your dues, please feel free to use any of the banners below. Each image can be saved locally for use on the Web. You may also click on each image for a hi-res TIFF file that can be used for print publication and advertising.

BRIDES Magazine / WPJA Wedding Photo Competition

BRIDES MAGAZINE & the Wedding Photojournalist Association proudly present a Wedding Photojournalism Contest.

The WPJA/BRIDES Wedding Photojournalism Contest spotlights the finest images from the best wedding photojournalists on the pages of one of the most world-renowned wedding publications and the web sites of the WPJA and BRIDES.

For most brides and grooms, wedding photojournalism is no longer a trendy alternative to traditional wedding day photo-coverage; rather, it is mainstream wedding photography. The WPJA has been leading the way in promoting and rewarding photographers who excel in capturing the un-styled and un-scripted moments of the wedding day. More and more couples are seeking out the top wedding photojournalists in the world through the WPJA web site.

May 16th, 17th & 18th, 2008: Sponsored by the WPJA, the three-day VII Seminar in New York City was held at the Klitgord Auditorium of the NYC Technical College. VII put on presentations by each of their 11 photographers, a few of their new Network photographers, sponsors and special guests. They organized a panel discussion on "Photojournalism within the context of Contemporary Photography". They also hosted exclusive VII Seminar evening events in the new VII DUMBO space on 28 Jay Street.
