This frame has great space. The sliver of open door and the eye connection between the people makes the picture. I get a sense of the bridesmaid trying to ensure the privacy of the bride until she is presented to the waiting audience. This image was a well done subtle piece of story telling. The nice facial expression and composition makes this more interpretive picture have poetic beauty.
The photographer was able to look past the more obvious possibilities of the bride and groom and get a nice photograph that incorporated good use of space. The jacket hanging on the door adds another story telling layer.
Maybe it's the choice of high camera angle and wide angle lens that create a feeling like we are looking in on a child getting ready for her rite of passage, but you can almost hear the bride's quiet contemplations when looking at this photograph.
The Wedding Photojournalist Association put the world's best wedding photography at your fingertips. We offer a new perspective on wedding photography - quietly capturing the real moments as they happen for the bride and groom. It is our goal to use photography to tell the story of your wedding day, not dictate it for you.
