I like the little moment happening in the portrait scenario. Lots of personality in the body language. Might have been more effective to frame it tighter -- loosing the distortion and having their faces be bigger in the frame.
This is such a beautifully quaint image of youth. It’s charming and unforgettable and downright, over-the-top precious. But it would be little more than a snapshot if not for the composition, lens choice and the right moment of a pair of pursed lips and the scrunched-up hike of a pair of shorts.
These girls are made for this portrait. Those balloons were destined to be held by them. That wall behind them was always their backdrop. In short, all I’m saying is that everything comes together in this portrait just as it should be. It is an image carved from light as carefully as their carefully managed hair.
I like to photograph kids as they are so genuine with their expressions. I went into sacristy just before the ceremony and saw these young flower girls full of excitement. It was a small and fairly dim lit space so I grabbed my 24/1.4 Nikkor lens because I needed that wide angle and big aperture to be able to capture this photo.
This image looks like a Dorthea Lang portrait. Beautiful expression and pose. I loved this little boy's face.
What a look. He’s simply irresistible. He’s gorgeous. There’s no wonder why the photographer paused long enough to capture this endearing portrait - because it was as unavoidable as our ability to ignore that infectious and downright self-assured smile.
There was nothing special about the way the photographer shot this image, except that the reaction captured was awesome. A little crop off the top would have helped this image, but great portrait of a baby.
I was so taken by the outrageous quirkiness of this image and there’s a reason why it captured my heart and mind. Look at the scene and what do you see? I noticed the liner shapes and graphics that encapsulated the moment of a child licking a delicious lollipop and another “child” wearing a ridiculous Viking helmet. We are always the child that we were no matter how hard we try to deny it.
