What a fun photo of father of bride holding his prepared speech, with the wire of a microphone dangling across his ample girth. I wonder if it was a speech prepared for him. Regardless, it’s a delightfully fun image. By the way, there’s something else I found interesting. Look carefully (especially if you darken your computer screen). I’m pretty sure you can detect the outline of his head behind the paper.
This guy is too cute. That expression is one for the ages. It seems no one is having as good a time as he. Well, except possibly viewers of this photo like myself. I love the color and the composition but, as always, it’s the moment that wins the show.
I must admit, it’s more fun to make a toast when there’s wine in the glass. But this hapless young man, surrounded by festivity, seems to be making a toast to a different idea - to be anywhere but here. Nonetheless, he provides the anchor to this lovely image.
Those luscious colors add to the festive moment of a toast to the bride and groom. The sharp lines of the pool, along with the woman in the foreground with a raised glass, create nice entry points into the image and lead us to the table in the background where two glasses clink in celebration.
It’s not often that a photographer happens upon such a humorous juxtaposition like this...a visage of a behemoth bull stealing a fleeting chance to imbibe in the champagne toast of an unsuspecting celebrant. It’s a fun image that required anticipation of the moment.
