This image is so perfect it looks like it could be a background for a beer ad. It's all here with that great light, laughter and strong composition. It's one of those images that comes together all at once in just the right way with beautiful layers of delight.

Well framed photo using the shadows on the wall.

A mentor once told me never to use shadows in my photos unless they significantly added to the narrative. I translated that to a personal mantra that there should be a journalistic reason for every element in an image. This photo met my personal litmus test by starting the photographic narrative in the foreground and completing it in the background.

Another example of looking around a situation that is common to weddings and seeing it from an uncommon perspective. The tilted horizon may add a feeling of energy to the image but I don't think it is necessary.

Nice seeing/capturing of dramatic light during what is usually an undramatic, even quiet moment. Stepping forward to lose the right 20% and the top 15% and the bottom 5% would really make this stronger and bring out the shoes which are an important subtext within the image.

This is a strikingly delicious image caressed in those beautiful saturated colors that blend furtively into the darkness surrounding them. It's a wonderful image with excellent composition pulled together with incredible lighting. All the components of this image brings us directly to the focal point, accented by that bright flash of light behind the subject.

Great use of the light coming in through the door and the translucence of the dress. I would love to see a color version to see how the walls, book covers and wooden shelves all give a feeling of warmth and age (I am guessing.)

Nice silhouette and gesture. It would be nice to have the oval larger by moving closer or using alonger lens (or both.) The top 5% of light tones are pulling my attention away.

This image has a striking sense of veracity. It feels real - as though we're in the room. We become a casual and familiar friend waiting for the wedding to begin. It feels as intimate as it is deliberate. The beautiful contrast of light and dark works well with the the posture of the man at left and the facial expression of the man on the right. It's a lovely image that is as seemingly simple as it is deceptively complex.
