The photographer was clearly ready for any potential detail, including a bride's underwear that makes a statement!
So that's what's under the dress! Funny and memorable image.

Unexpected, but interesting composition.

3rd Place: Elise Kapeller from Victoria, AustraliaJudges Comments
Shallow depth of field really makes the words "I Do" stand out from the floor and dress. Unusual detail nicely captured.
Perfect use of color, lens and framing to capture a whimsical detail. Less is more!

Nice eye for capturing a detail that is more than the sum of its parts. Upward camera angle, cropping, and depth of field are all used effectively to make an image that freezes a special memory for a lifetime.

5th Place: Brian Lam from Hong Kong, Hong KongJudges Comments
This is not your average toast photo. The photographer took a risk to be on the other side of the tent wall but the payoff was a very nice and different moment.

This photo shows us a behind-the-scenes look at how the refined details of a wedding are constructed; the feet remind us that those details are constructed by humans. The framing is just right.

This may be the most dynamic detail of the lot. It almost falls apart visually, but is rescued by the intact dove between the fingers at right. This is hard to pull off, but it's nice to see a photographer go for it!

Who doesn't love dogs! The juxtaposition of the fluffy white dress and the fluffy white dog is very funny. The photographer clearly has a sense of humor. The photo is made even better because the photographer shot the image at the dog's eye level.

The added human element make this balloon release rise above the others. We don't need to see everyone to know what is happening. Creative framing and composition.
This is just plain fun. That hand makes this whole event seem real and gives a sense space, which emphasizes the of openness to the sky. Nicely seen.

This is so simple that it's easy to overlook. But that's the whole point of details, isn't it: to show even people who were at the event something they missed, but should have noticed? That is exactly what this photo does so well.
