1st Place: Steve Matteo from Illinois, United StatesJudges Comments
Great framing and isolation of an intimate moment.
A clean and simple image framed well by the silhouetted dancers effectively captures the kiss between the bride and groom preserving their private moment without intruding.
There's a lot of energy during receptions, if this set of photos is any indication. Most of these photos try to make sense of the chaos. This photographer found a little moment of peace that gives us a glimpse into the lives of the people photographed. Nicely done.

Nice and simple balanced graphic moment! Made a very nice image in a very bland room. Well done.

In-your-face and unexpected point of view.

Despite undoubtedly photographing this traditional event at many weddings before, the photographer succeeds in capturing a humorous telling image. The delight in the faces of the onlookers and the reaction of the person in the chair are preserved perfectly.

Great expressions. Strong graphically.
Weirdly timeless. Is this 2012 or 1952? No matter, the bride is the center of attention, in her mind at least, and that’s what this photo shows so nicely. Again, who knew hands were so important in wedding photography (and not just hands with rings on them).

7th Place: João Salamonde from Rio de Janeiro, BrazilJudges Comments
This is just a very funny moment. Right place, right time to capture the unexpected reaction.
-
8th Place: Victor Marti from Madrid, SpainJudges Comments
A well-seen moment full of joy. The hands are as expressive as the faces and the photographer recognized that and responded.
-
9th Place: Andrea Cittadini from Perugia, ItalyJudges Comments
A candid moment effectively captured by the high camera angle which highlights the compositional interplay between the two groups.
-
10th Place: Paul Rogers from Hertfordshire, EnglandJudges Comments
This image is all about the reaction. The low angle to include the cake works well in this instance also.

11th Place: Christian Fossati from Pescara, ItalyJudges Comments
There were A LOT of photos of grooms (and brides) being hoisted in the air. This one captures the energy with just a little more clarity and crispness. Like other photos in this category, the hands drive the visual direction of the photo.
