Don't see this very often and I'm sure the woman carrying the cake wasn't pleased. Now the moment that occurred can be shown in a photo and not just told as a story only.,
We know what the next frame is, but this is the one we want to see. Very fun.,
Hope there was a bakery open to get a replacement cake! Talk about being in the right place at the right time and reacting quickly. You can't plan for a photo like this, but you do get credit for framing the disaster effectively. The wedding party looks like they found humor in the situation, and the band played on, so it feels ok to laugh.,
Certainly a fresh take on a highly photographed scene. The success of this image was in the anticipation of a perceptive photographer. The hilarity of this moment made even funnier by the expressions of the amused bride and groom. Priceless-,

A lovely scene that we all want to be part of.,
A classically cute kid shot with boys who look like they came from central casting. Love the dripping fudge (?), the gap-toothed bite and the chocolate mustache.,

A real moment, and a reminder that letting loose at a reception can mean craziness, but it can also mean letting go of profound relationships that are now changing. ,

Whatever's going on is certainly out of the ordinary! Risque? Yes. But also exuberant, animated and exciting. The quiet landscape framed on the wall is unlikely to have witnessed many wedding moments like this one. And little things, like the interaction of hands, including the two intruding from the frame of the image on the right, contribute to the success of the photo.,

An evening cool down for these late night swimmers is juxtaposed against a loving bride and groom. Nice use of flash and layering of moments.,

“Fly on the Wall” comes to mind with this photograph. The photographer welcomes the viewer into this behind the scenes. ,

Beautiful. No guarantees that the photo would work when it happened, but it must have been meant to be. ,
Photographer's Comment
I'm a big believer in creating your own luck. Sometimes it comes from having a certain skill set or insight, and sometimes luck comes to those who take chances. When I found out the bride and groom would be releasing doves at their wedding, I made a point of finding the dove handler beforehand and asking a few questions. He let me know what the doves' tendencies were and what I might expect from the dove release. With a second shooter covering the 'standard' shot, I took a chance by moving in with a wide-angle lens, high and a little to the side, anticipating the dove would turn towards the sunlight upon its exit.

Once people start drinking... It's one of those photos that keeps your eye going in circles over and over, looking at each of their unique expressions as they look toward each other. ,

One of those moments that gets me curious about what the next frame looks like. The photo creates an emotion and visual tension by his expression... Is he happy, upset, pouting? I don't know but I will keep guessing.,

Made her day, clearly.,

I'm not sure whether this is a sad or simply contemplative scene, but the photo lets us unobtrusively share it. Perhaps the day isn't going as she'd planned and hoped; perhaps she needed to simply get away from the hubbub for a time; maybe it's as simple as her feet hurt after a long day in heels. Whatever the reason for her far-away stare, the photo respectfully preserves a moment that assuredly broadens the day's coverage beyond nervous preparations and raucous celebration.,

Nicely framed moment of a bride and what I assume is her mother during a toast at a reception.,

Beautiful light, adorable moment. One wonders what the tube is in the bride's hand; not knowing allows one to imagine a variety of scenarios, making the moment more intriguing. Getting down to the child's level, shooting from her point of view, heightens the sense of intimacy.,
