Silhouettes, Shadows & Good Light

This is my favorite photo. What GREAT use of silhouettes! I love that the conga line goes outside. The photographer NAILED this shot.
The repetition of figures is perfect. Their arms lead us right across the frame and the black and white helps us focus on the shapes. This is one of my very favorites in this competition.

Love the ethereal light. The breeze in the bride’s hair adds some lovely detail. Exposed well.
A strong study in color, light and mystical mood.

Well executed. The low perspective was a good choice. The rosy glow, smoke and the moon add beautiful detail to a simple silhouette.
All elements work effectively, in harmonious balance.
A perfect use of lighting, composition and the ability to capture a meaningful moment. These are all elements which make this picture a great picture. It reminds me some Flemish school paintings.

The ladies walking into the church is very nice in this photo. Holding the little girl’s hands is wonderful.

Great use of setting the scene of the wedding on the water. The colors are great having shot it at sundown.

A great job of the photographer seeing beyond the literal scene.

This is a nice moment during the ceremony. The officiant doesn’t have to have his face seen - his hand is fine. I like the ring bearer and flower girl to the side.

I really appreciate how the photographer worked with the ambient light in this difficult situation. Although cropping just a little off the left would help us focus on the moment more.

I don’t think I would’ve liked this picture if it were in black and white. The color of the dresses and the blue of the ocean add to this photo.
