Another classic cake in the face moment. Nice execution.

Here's a fun photo from a scene that can often go awkwardly awry. I've seen hundreds of "cake stuffing" images but I can't recall any that I liked as much as this. Perhaps it's because their faces are somewhat obscured, creating a moment that becomes more iconic than isolated in the event. Maybe it's the shutter speed capturing the chunks of chocolate cake falling from the playfulness of the scene. Maybe it's the light and composition of the image that fills the frame in a way that accentuates the moment. Or perhaps it's simply a great photo where everything works together at once. Whatever it is.. from background to foreground, the image "works."

Tilt works well for the composition of this image but the highlight is the little girls expression as she views the cake after the groom proudly holds his sword after slicing it. Adding to the frame is the little girl at left who doesn’t know what to think about it all. Great body language and expressions throughout! Black and white brings the focus to the little girl.

I love the boy covering his eyes as the couple is about to kiss. I also love the little girl who is focused right on the cake.

Photographer captured nice expression of the bride and groom as children wait patiently at right to eat the cake. I like the framing of the children but I would have cropped about a quarter inch above in this photograph to clean up the background and bring the focus below.

Is this a sign of the times? Another funny photo but relevant to our technological world. Here we have a couple eating donuts instead of cake and the grooms are all obsessed with text messaging and oblivious to the moment. Nice framing and the repetition are great throughout. Black and white helps simplify the image.

I really liked this image which made me wonder why I see so few like it. It made me think of a basic "rule" I used to follow when covering sports. My eye seldom left the viewfinder after a play was done. Some of the best images occur when we think it's over. The aftermath and afterwards of an event often speaks more to us than the event itself.

The entire image speaks a message of grace and respect. She gently wipes her mouth as he kisses her cheek. Even the cake stands with a subdued grace mirroring the shape of the attendees at far right. It's as though the scene itself "sounds like" the soft click of the shutter. I really like this photo because it reveals something more about the couple without agenda.

This cake was shot with several layers and that adds to the beauty of it. The background creates a lot of energy but is soft focused so the cake is the central focus. The tablecloth is highlighted with lights below that create drama. Great detail with atmosphere!
