Stood out, without a doubt. Peak moment, great reaction by photographer. This image could have placed in the humor category as well.
The framing on this is perfect, that moment of the cake cutting. I wonder what made the cake fall, is she really going to catch it? What makes the picture even better is the groom seems completely unaware of what is happening right in front of him. Nice job of paying attention and great reaction.
In many relationships it’s the woman who concentrates on the details of making things run smoothly while the man is easily distracted. When, exactly, the groom is going to realize that the wedding cake next to him is toppling over is a large part of this photograph’s appeal. Fortunately for him, however, his wife seems to have the situation well in hand. Funny.

Beautiful colors and the condensation on the cup really springs to life in some gorgeous light.
This photo actually made me think of an ad. It’s about the drink, not the bride, but you still feel the emotion of the moment of celebration.
Depth of field, light and paying very close attention to the details of all aspects of context and background work here.

Yes there was a lot of this drama created, however…getting the bride in the picture oblivious to all the action, actually almost gives her center stage, well she is the bride.
Highly effective approach to an already visual situation, by including the bride, illuminated by only ambient light. Flames, red aura combine to creatively convey the receptions special setting.

This photograph has the feel of a professional ad. It makes its point simply and eloquently: two people drinking wine at a wedding reception (held in a winery?). The focus is on the wine glasses. But there is a more than a hint of sensuality in the unseen faces, the mostly dark figure of the woman, the way the man’s hand is tilting the wine glass toward the woman (the bride?) and the way the light is shining on the woman’s low cut dress. It makes me thirsty.

One never knows for certain what’s going to happen when one pops the question or the cork. But there is usually a bubbly feeling of anticipation and mild panic. This photograph captures that feeling.

It’s really simple, but so symbolic. I don’t think I’ve seen this picture very often, or ever, which makes it all the better. You can look at this and it tells a story. Wonder if they will keep the cake for a year? The simplicity of the photo really adds to the story, anything, or anyone would have distracted you of this moment.

Good times for all, including the bride and groom, photographed nicely with low angle and just enough motion to add visual tension.

Excellent reaction caught by photographer.

This photograph succeeds as much for the way the h’ordeuvres have been arranged on the table as for the way the photographer took the picture. It’s a very elegant arrangement and an attractive photograph of food.

Fun way to show flaming creation with nice moment between bride and groom to add a little extra dimension. I may have cropped in from right?

The photographer used depth of field, accent light, and a low angle to create an engaging photograph of Champaign glasses. It’s a detail photograph that belongs in a wedding album.
