Gorgeous picture! Great use of body language and light. Nice work!
The light, background, and beautiful light on the dancer make this a classical-looking image that is a pleasure to look at. (I'm not sure why it wasn't, but could the video camera at left have been cropped out?)

This is so unusual! Fun light perfectly aligned by the photographer.
Maybe it's because this one made me nostalgic for Saturday Night Fever, but it has beautiful color and good seeing. The green laser separates the couple and brings them together at the same time.

Wonderful use of background, shadow, light; exactly what the category is about.

4th Place: Aidan Dockery from Bangkok, ThailandJudges Comments
This photo has a great feel. The backlight of the setting sun, the casualness of the barefoot bride and the flowers on the rock and the way the photographed framed the scene. Little elements that come together beautifully.

You talk about minimizing the elements in an image with selective exposure. There is just enough light on the bride's face, and barely enough detail to the see their body language....but ample enough to make this a wonderful image of a private moment that likely would have been destroyed by artificial light.

Backlight, bubbles and a nice moment!

This is amazing light, but completely lacks a point of focus or a sense of action. Still, I'm mesmerized by this film-set-like view.

This image kept moving up for me - it is just a nice use of silhouette and framing.

Graphic, complimentary colors and the right moment to get the outdoor light and the men talking.
The photographer of this image gets credit for backing off from the scene and having a look at the "bigger picture." It's a good eye that saw how the colors, shapes, and moment would combine to make a strong image.

Just lovely light and nice mood created with the backlight/veil combo. Plus, I liked that the photographer framed the hat in the image- it tells us something unique about this wedding.
Simplicity is what makes this image a final selection. The light, color, and shallow depth of field make this a peaceful image of a special moment.

It was a good eye that spotted this image and exposed it to emphasize the light, and the dresses. The unconventional framing works to make an interesting image of what could be shot in a very standard fashion.

Simply beautiful light, without adornment.

13th Place: Sol Tamargo from Riviera Maya, MexicoJudges Comments
This is a beautiful setting but what really makes the photograph stand apart is the backlight the photographer threw on the couple. Nicely done.

Looking beyond the obvious for nice lighting.

Using the backlight makes us go straight for those good eyes in the edge of the frame.
