This is a moment we have all seen before but you captured it well. It has a timeless feeling to it.

Great moment. Nice color and composition. You really managed to capture the feeling of her being bounced up and down.

Most of the guests are gone, or haven't arrived yet, given the empty tables, but the little boy could care less as he uses the table to play hide and seek, or simply to hide until the moment he's discovered and the photo successfully captures that moment. Unexpected pictures like this contribute to making a wedding's coverage stand out.

This photograph could have ranked higher for me if the photographer had of thought about it just a little more, perhaps waited a little longer, or perhaps cropped it a bit tighter. The fellow eating kills the photograph—too many distracting elements.

A technically perfect photograph under a wide range of exposure values. The sparklers are a nice touch for a reception.

Nicely framed. There is something a little surreal about this image which really works. It would not work in B&W.

This photo has great expressions and action. The direct strobe hurts it slightly, but overall a wonderful moment from the event.

Again, the sparklers make a photograph, but the photographer’s sidelight makes this a prize-winning photograph. Sometimes this device works. It did here.

Touching moment of this young couple.

The fireworks are a bit blown out, but the sheer joy of the moment makes up for that shortcoming.

12th Place: Tom Catchesides from Cambridgeshire, EnglandJudges Comments
The photographer captured joy within tradition. The expressions are easy to read in the black and white tones.

13th Place: Kerry Morgan from Kent, EnglandJudges Comments
Nice tonal palette, composition and a great face make this picture. The bride seems genuinely excited and the way she's gripping the hand really communicates the spontaneity of the moment. Good job being in position with a clean background for when the moment happens.

Wonderful San Francisco Bay Area backyard wedding that ended with a leap into the pool captured with split second timing. This was the only photo I took of the leap into the pool.

A touching, quiet moment of the bride and groom alone, away from their guests and the loud celebration, captured unobtrusively by the photographer whose presence is not felt, contributing to the intimacy of the image.

Great perspective.

The photo is very well balanced and is cropped perfectly.

By just focusing on the two guys, the photo would be too plain. To include the spectators leg in the photo, I have to take the photos at high point and I have to do it fast. Don't have enough time to find a chair, using my widest lens I have, at 14mm, lifted my camera high above my head and took the shot.

Clean lines and lighting make this a winner.

Interesting use of the reflection to represent the crowded reception while at the same time emphasizing the quiet escape of the three men at the table. Did they retire to that table to escape the noise, or better to observe what was going on? The question is posed by the picture but not answered.

A simple shot that takes advantage of the face makeup to turn an otherwise ordinary photo into an intriguing image.
