This is the most complex composition of the competition, and its success in this arena brought it to this position. It's clean and has nice light. The little girl at the bottom of the image was off in her own world, which gives the image more layers. Good execution of a complex moment.

Great use of framing in this image. You are led quickly into the nervous groom. A nice 'behind the scenes' image.

I love the nervous expression that has been captured here but what I find most interesting is the guests in the background who don’t seem to notice the tension at all. This photographer made a very intimate moment and captured it well with the shallow depth of field.

The body language of both subjects made this image rise above the rest. The arc of the woman's posture at left was surprising in nature. It was a nice contrast to the slump of the man at right. The composition was simple and clean, and the light was strong. Loved the tennis shoes the man was wearing, it's a nice subtle detail. Good work.

Sweet moment captured of a bride and groom’s last touch before the ceremony. Nicely framed with the bride just stretching her arm outside but nothing more so the groom does not see her dress before the ceremony.

Sweet and touching, the boys want to be like the big guys and button up. A storytelling image of a passage for these two, maybe from boyhood to manhood. This is nice, interpretive image making.

Funny photo! Perfectly suggests the overwhelming energy taking over on the wedding day. Everything on this day is consumed by the wedding, which is represented by the perfect symbol, the dress.

I laughed out loud when I first saw this photo. A great moment in an unusual scene put this image ahead of the others.

This photographer captured a funny juxtaposition of a girl’s head and the mirror reflecting one of the bridesmaid’s bodies giving us a feel for the chaos in the room.

The moment of this image made it rise, even though technically it was a little weaker than I would have liked it to be. Nevertheless, the composition, coupled with the moment, helped override the technical execution. The shoe sticking out was a great detail to play off of and gave a hint of the coming day, a solid example of "getting ready."
