On a walk through the historic streets of Zurich, this newlywed gave her husband a spontaneous squeeze as he scooped her up off her feet. Mokros captured their movements in a stylish, vintage-looking image that practically defines wedded bliss. The slow shutter speed chosen by the photographer helps convey the bride’s feelings of exuberance, giving the image a dreamlike quality.

The photographer has captured the love between this couple through their body language. You immediately notice the bride’s foot propped up on the groom’s lap and his gesture that attempts to comfort his tired bride. This photo is filled with tenderness. The position of the couple within the frame provides a feeling of intimacy between them as life goes on around. His expression says it all.

By blurring the priest and the background, the photographer gives the sense that the bride and groom only see one another—just like the viewer. Your eye is drawn to the emotion welling up in the bride’s expression.

Despite the rain, the groom couldn’t look happier. The use of black-and-white and the whimsical composition make this image feel like a postcard straight out of the 1950s. A classic moment of a groom celebrating his marriage day by clicking his heals. The street and building and the guests walking add to the spontaneity of the moment.

This humorous action shot demonstrates that, when shooting weddings, the only thing that can be expected is the unexpected. We love the ducks flying off in the same direction as the groom! Comical moment – except for the groom I suppose! The reaction of the ducks adds excitement to the photo. Great example of using the environment as a backdrop. The scene of a typical bride/groom portrait got interesting when the groom takes a fall and the photographer doesn’t miss the moment. The brides astonished look, the fleeing mallards and the curious passer-by compliment the image.

In this beautiful setting, the bride and groom kick back with a few beers. We love that they seem like the only guests at the wedding. A nicely framed and timed moment of the bride and groom drinking as they eat their wedding dinner. A straight documentary photo of an event that is not usually picture-worthy, but the expressions help to convey a relaxed mood.

This shot has great energy. It makes you wonder about the couple’s ultimate destination. The photographer follows the action into the forbidden zone it seems. It has a great voyeuristic feel, as if we are getting a glimpse of the couple stealing away from the crowd.

From the bride’s wide smile, to the excited expression on her guests’ faces, to the glittering sparklers, this picture screams festivity. The warm gold glow from the sparklers adds to the ambiance of this jubilant outdoor reception. Strong use of lighting, waiting for the exact moment as the bride neared the camera and the beauty of the sparklers all combine to make a beautiful frame.
