Cake Cutting

One of the nicer, less predictable cake photos. There is no cake in it, but it's clear from the way she is holding her hands (and the cake on his fingers) what has just taken place. The people in the background seem to want to give the privacy, yet still watch. The couple is framed beautifully in the frame and the women with their arms in the right corner mimic the hands and arms of the couple.

A view change and an interesting motive selection. The photographer captured the emotions of the guests very well. A very interesting picture.

It is not a new picture idea, not surprising, but funny.

Although cliché, it's a very well-done cliché. The kid's bright eyes and terrific expression are framed really nicely by the hands on the knife and the cake.

This is another good pic that obviously works better in b&w with the pattern of the dots pretty much taking over the picture. Clearly this wedding was planned with photos in mind.

Another nice cake-less cake moment. The light is lovely and the repetition of their hands just makes the moment.

A very nice use of light.

Maybe a conventional cake-cutting picture on steroids, this pic to me has a timeless quality that wouldn't work in color. I like the way the groom looks concerned for his bride's actions.

This couple looks like they have no idea why somebody would have made them an armadillo? Cake. Their expressions are priceless, as is the woman at right.

I like the expression on the brides face and the small dab of icing is all that's needed to indicate what is happening.
