Transportation

Surprising angle combined with the perfect car for the shot, which allows the seat color to meld with the signage creating a lovely composition.

An odd picture that leaves the viewer with more questions than answers. Was the bride just dropped off? Why is the plane so close? Whatever; this picture catches your attention and that is good.

3rd Place: Christian Keenan from London, EnglandJudges Comments
A different take on the transportation - neat to see the mode of transportation in the background, and not the couple actually on it. How he hiked her up all those stairs is beyond me. If that's not love…

The photographer sure had Mother Nature to thank for this photo. It's a beautiful shot of the couple driving down the road with the Fall foliage.

The background makes this picture and puts you on the sailing vessel. Without the background, this picture doesn't tell a story. Maybe even a little more of the sail would have helped.

6th Place: Stacey Brandon from Florida, United StatesJudges Comments
Beautiful reflective moment captured in a very non-invasive manner.

7th Place: Daniel Kudish from Quebec, CanadaJudges Comments
Simply a study in composition and color, very striking and a refreshing entry in this category.

8th Place: Janis Ratnieks from London, EnglandJudges Comments
Another odd picture in that the bride seems content but the groom looks like he'd rather be somewhere else. She looks happy; he doesn't.

This is one of those pictures that you can look at for a long time and study everyone's body language. The skipper especially, because it looks like somebody is going to get really wet very soon and all the faces show that concern.

Nice, lively moment in the bumper cars. It looks as if the couple is actually riding the cars for themselves.
-
11th Place: Dominique Cabrelli from Ile-de-france, FranceJudges Comments
Nice body language captured in the confined space of a limo, yet the photographer still maintains a near invisible presence.

12th Place: Erin Yee from Arizona, United StatesJudges Comments
A nicely done motorcycle photo. Like the motion given to the photo. Cropped nice and tight as well.

As much as I love the expressions, this image would have been more successful with better framing.

Is the woman looking in the car window the mother or a Beatles fan from the 1960's? Ugly-lit with flash but a great scene.

Photographer's Comment
There wasn't a graceful way to get on, so in the spirit of the moment the bride gets help hiking up her dress and hoping on. Using a slow shutter with a fast flash, I was able to stop the action but still keep the essence of the street scape.
