Groom Getting Ready

The alignment of the three men lined up to tie their ties is nice. No one's face is hidden and all three are in different aspects of tieing the damn tie. There were a lot of 'team' readying pictures. I liked this one. It seems completely natural and well-composed. Good repetition with the guys intently putting on their ties. Good angle so that all the ties are visible.

Of all the “moment of prayer before the ceremony†photos in this batch, this one was the best. It showed the most energy. You could tell it was right before the wedding itself (and not possibly a bachelor party) since all the men are in their suits. Good faces on the grooms' party.

A perfect moment. Much implied, but you dont have to show more than the reactions. This image simply grabs your attention, just as the woman in the bathrobe did to the two men in kilts. It holds your wonder and begs you to speculate as to the nature of the humorous exposure. Is she too wearing a kilt?

Well done in getting that look of total bewilderment. Color, framing and expression are what set this image up to create a powerful composition. I think it's lovely. The colors are great, as is his expression.

This image is all about the subtle body language of the central figure, which is elegant, expressive and unencumbered by the presence of the photographer. As your eyes move through the photograph, you become aware that everyone in the frame is in a state of relaxed preparation, a delightful moment that we are allowed to share.

Great angle and framing. The tight camera crop included all the hands, the groom's face, and then the surprise of the little kid looking up in the bottom right of the frame. Image needs more contrast.

The emotion out of this one is fantastic. It's a little hot over the one shoulder, but I love the emotion of the two men looking at the ring. It's a genuine moment and doesn't look posed.

A fairly simple but intimate picture made better by the beautiful natural light hitting the subject, and the gesture of the hand and the body language of the hand in his pocket. You can feel his nervousness.

The attic roofline creates the framing that accentuates the spatial solitude which allows the introspective act of prayer to become so powerful in this image.

The low angle and the framing to include two other faces makes this one better than ordinary. I would suggest cropping a little bit on both sides to bring your eye even more to the man putting on the cufflink.

Composition, color and unique location combined to set this image ahead of many others.

Not often you see someone with real scissors trying to cut their beard. It's a little soft on his hand, but you can still feel the intensity the man has in getting his beard trimmed just right.

I like the anticipation in this photo. You know are making sure they lead him correctly down the hall without seeing her before it's time. Great look on his face and his friends'.

Two halves make a whole. Good that the photographer backed off to show us both rooms.
