Great moment! We really get the sense that there was a party going on! Photographer was in the perfect spot with the perfect lens.
This is such a great moment but the flash hurts it. The floor is so bright it’s distracting. I know there was probably no other way to shoot it but it’s hard to hold it up to the other pictures with better exposure. I’m surprised the people around him don’t seem to be more entertained because it looks pretty hilarious. Great catch by the photographer but maybe a little easier on the flash if possible next time.

Great silhouette of the bouquet toss. There is just enough light to give the bride some distinction. Great timing on the toss.

The layering of both information and composition is fabulous in this lively image. Your eye goes on a little journey from the bride and groom and ending with the disconnected man on the right. You can feel the moment of the music and almost hear them singing.

This really felt like a found moment. A fresh view of a non typical wedding reception.

The colors and lighting on the subjects create a great mood for this image. The blurred background with the lights enhances the feel of the image. The only distraction for me is the merger between the subjects with the background lights.

I love the guy in the back. I wish his head were dead center in the heart (is that a heart?) Regardless, I love his stance and look and the way he is framed with the two younger guys with cheerful expressions. It’s just a lovely unexpected picture. My other complaint is the abundance of space on the top of the frame.

Great moment. Normally, or often, photographers go in for the close-up or the “kill”. To stay back with a wide lens and give us landscape and greater context for what is happening works really well. Receptions yield an abundance of crazy alcoholic induced moments. Whether he is sober or not, it is an unusual way to experience the festivities.

The look on the bride’s face says it all. It’s unexpected for the groom to be that risqué on the dance floor, I would think. I would have preferred to have her eyes in the frame but her mouth says it all. The un-tucked shirt on the man on the right tells me it’s later in the reception and they’ve probably had a few drinks. Good thing the photographer stuck around for this great moment and took a chance with unusual composition to make this image.

Loved the intimacy of this dance, a quiet picture but I could feel the embrace.

The expression on the bride in conjunction with the hands captures the closeness between this group of people. You really get a sense of family and love.
Liked the composition and expressions in this photo.

I liked how this photographer looked beyond the dance floor and found a really sweet moment between this old couple. Technically, this image suffers a little because of the direct flash but the moment helps to carry it.

Sorry, but I can’t say much about this photo. It speaks for itself, intimate, believable, simple clean composition that allows us to share the tenderness of the moment.

Nice use of layers to give depth to the photo. The separation between the subjects and the background of the reception strengthens the image. I especially liked the light on the hair and face.

A fabulous cross-generational moment. I’m sure this will be cherished for years to come. The bride and groom loving the moment in the background make this one for me.

Love the interaction between the bride and her bridesmaids. It captures the spirit of the reception. The colors and even lighting add to the image.

Even lighting is the key to this party moment, with bounce technique preserving some modeling detail on these beautiful girls. Gestures say so much in a photo, and this shot is no exception.

The comic strip feel and color to this picture is a nice breath of fresh air. It’s another example of making a picture by playing with the light and color. The party atmosphere comes through loud and clear without lighting the hell out of the participants. Very nice!
