PHOTO CAPTION BY BRIDES MAGAZINE: While sipping sweet tea during the wedding party's hair and makeup session, Bridges unwittingly triggered a group craving for pre-ceremony snacks. Off they went to McDonald's, where he took this shot of the bride contemplating the menu. Though she's wearing a veil and a strand of pearls with her striped tee and sandals, the other customers are oblivious, which adds to the surreal feel. I chose this image for its strong documentary feeling. The photographer stuck with his subject ... and it paid off.

The bride stands out from the dark background. We are drawn in by her sincere expression
Photographer's Comment
One of my favorite photographs of the daughter and daddy first dance. I am always aware of these situations that may provide for an excellent emotional image to be cherished for a lifetime. I tend to move around the outskirts of the dance floor during this dance, to be as unobtrusive as possible, but lying in wait to capture these moments. I used a larger lens on my camera to keep a good distance and to help "soften" the background and keep the onlookers out of focus, therefore allowing for a crisp sharp subject that stands out from the rest of the crowd.

Layering and reflection in the glass make this picture interesting—you can see the rich details in the environment around the bride. Beautifully-composed photograph with a great moment - very intimate and great use of layers (foreground girl, reflection, bride, and relatives in the background). Great photograph. A little difficult to read at first, but I really appreciated all the detail in the reflection. Deftly-handled by the photographer.

The photographer really catches the intimate relationship and nervous energy of the father (assumed) and bride side by side. The bride's face says it all. Sometimes that's all you need. Nice color, too.
