An intriguing and unusual image. Marvelous use of natural light that helps capture a thought-provoking mood. The composition is excellent! Little details such as the angel print on the wall add so much to the wonderfully complex photo.

Such beautiful, golden light and the shadow of the bride make this a winner! The composition adds an element of grace to the image, creating a great element of place.

Well you certainly can't beat this location and color of the light. It looks like the bride and groom are walking off into heaven. Very dreamy. But I have to comment on this category in general. There were so many pictures of people walking away from the photographers that it puzzled me. I saw so many pictures with stunning light in other categories that I wondered what the photographers were thinking when they got to this category. All of the moments and good storytelling went away

Light adds an element of mystery to the bride in this image where she is lighted but the other subjects are still in the shadow. The bride is still a little blown out technically in this image and needs to be a little darker.

Wonderful, strong, graphic shadows and composition make use of the natural light in this image and also give a great element of place for the wedding couple.

Sometimes it takes some courage to shoot right into our light source, but the results are almost always rewarding. In this case, a strong image of a common wedding situation – the application of eye make-up.

Beautiful light really makes this photo. The black background makes the subject pop – nice exposure! And the bride's hands are beautiful.

I wonder what this would have looked like if the photographer had been on the other side and the bride was coming toward him/her. This is a great location for a picture and it has the qualities you need for an unusual picture – but again it's a picture of a back.

Lovely, elegant image of the bride side-lighted by natural light as she and the wedding party head to the ceremony. The image shot from above gives it strong composition.

The photographer made good use of window light and by stepping back and including much of the room, the photo has both a balanced composition and an unobtrusive feel. It's fun to have the focus on the groom while the faceless bride fixes her hair. It's unexpected to see the groom (assuming) holding the bouquet. The image captures a less-expected and intimate moment.

This is a classic wedding picture – but executed in strong light which gives it more power than it would have otherwise.
Photographer's Comment
This image was a bit of a gamble - in order to expose them perfectly in the pool of light, I could really only take two photos of them on their way out of the ceremony. It paid off.

This image is nicely layered with the bride framed by those ahead in the shadows. She's wonderfully isolated by the light falling mostly on her. Her downward gaze and expression add to the quiet intimate mood. Also the man at the left looking at her adds a nice element to the photo.
