A clean, lively portrait of a couple. Again I don't know the couple, but the photographer certainly found a way to show them in the most positive view of their future together. Pan shots are tricky. This one is just a little late, but still a winner.

This is a beautiful moody photograph with great light, composition, color and movement. The dog also adds another element!

Clean composition. The graphics draw you into the heart of the photograph perfectly. Long lens is great. Letting the light bounce around from all the steam solved any lighting problems. Well exposed.

It's different. Simple as that. A good idea, pleasant faces and well executed. An interesting portrait that shows both faces using the latest technology. Good idea, well done.

This was a photo where you look and go to yourself, “How did she get up there?†I like that. It made me think. It is well balanced and shows thought.

This is a very nice photograph. The lines, the light and the framing flow right into the subjects. It's a great choice for a portrait setting.

Beautiful combination of motion, emotion and graphic appeal. Getting high was great. Could have gone one shutter speed slower. Perfect lens selection, just letting it breathe. Wonderful.

Nice clean graphic image that captures the love between this couple with a little humor as their tram passes another and an older man is watching them. I think shooting this in black and white helps get to the content of the emotion of the image.

This was a fun, different portrait. The photographer had a plan and it doesn't look like she/he made the subjects do something out of character for them. Nice, clean composition.

The stark winter day makes for a wonderful warm photo. The photographer's use of the landscape makes this photo stand out.

The background scene is a winner and the timing and light is perfect.

12th Place: Rick Collins from British Columbia, CanadaJudges Comments
This photo has a strong element of design and irony with the three men in the foreground very complacent with life contrary to the couple kissing in the reflection. I almost missed them in this frame though.

This is a picture that is well executed. A picture that has been seen before but beautiful notheless.

This photo has great use of light. It's a moment-in-time photograph that you can stare at for a long time.

The couple kissing in the train station worked for me because it felt like a natural moment. The kids running by was a good gift from the photo gods. I'm not a big fan of tilts but this one works for the composition.

Very original. Nice emotion. Perfect. Internal identifier is hilarious. Working close with the lens made it sing.

I like the balance of the photo. The couple is placed in the right spot of the photo. The warm glow of the lights makes it easy on the eyes.

I know that there were a few of the “pet in focus†pictures in this category, but this one is just too good not to give a prize. Great expression on the dog.

Clever, simple, clean, nice. The color works as a part of the content. Long lens was a great idea.
